How to delete part numbers in Bulk

You can delete multiple part numbers in bulk using the tagging and filtering process in PDM. This method helps ensure that only the intended products are removed

Updated this week

If you need to remove multiple part numbers from your catalog, you can do this efficiently using tags and the bulk delete option. Follow the steps below to identify, tag, and delete part numbers in bulk.

Export Items Segment

  1. Navigate to All Products.

  2. Locate the list of part numbers that need to be deleted (You can filter or export all products).

  3. Export the Items segment by clicking Export from the Actions button or Import/Export Menu.

  4. Save the file to your computer; you'll use this to tag and identify the products for deletion.

Tag Products to Delete

  1. Open the exported Items segment.

  2. Identify the part numbers you want to delete.

  3. Locate the Tags column (column AC).

  4. Add a tag of your choice to mark these products (for example, Delete).

    • If the product already has a tag, you can add multiple tags by separating them with a semicolon ;.

      (See column AC)

  5. Save your file and re-import it into PDM to update your products with the new tag.

Filter the tagged products

  • Filter by the Tag created and then export all the products again so you can work only on those.

Verify and Delete the Part Numbers

  1. While the tagged products are still filtered, click Select All.

  2. Click Actions at the top right and select Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion. All tagged part numbers will be permanently deleted from your catalog.

Bulk deleting part numbers is a straightforward process that helps keep your catalog organized and up to date. Always review and confirm your tagged selection before deleting to avoid removing any necessary items. If you need to restore any deleted products, you can reimport them at any time; you just need to create a backup before starting this process.
