How to Export Approved Brand Data

Learn how to export product data from your approved brands using the Import/Export tool in your PDM Receiver account.

Updated over 2 months ago

In this article you will learn how to export product data from your PDM Receiver account. It covers selecting brands, applying filters, choosing your export format, and downloading your files.

If you’d rather jump straight into exporting, check out our Receiver Essentials: Exporting Product Data – 5-Minute Guide. It walks you through the core steps to select a brand, apply filters, choose your format, and download your export — all at a glance.

1. Start in the Import/Export Area

  • Go to Import/Export from the left-hand menu

  • Select the Export tab at the top

This is where all export actions begin.

2. Select a Brand (or Brands)

  • Use the dropdown to select an Approved Brand

  • You can select multiple brands only when using Export Builder Plus

If you select multiple brands, Export Builder Plus will be your only available export format.

3. (Optional) Apply a Filter

To narrow your export to specific products, select a Saved Filter from the dropdown on the Export screen.

Note: Filters must be created in the All Products view using the filtering and tagging tools. This allows you to target only the part types, vehicle applications, categories, etc. that matter to your business—ideal for exports tied to specific platforms, promotions, or internal use cases.

4. Choose Your Export Format

You’ll see five export options in PDM:

  • Excel (Full) – Standard Excel file with each segment on a separate sheet

  • Export Builder Plus – Custom templates combining specific fields into one sheet (multi-brand support)

  • ACES – Industry standard format for application (fitment) data

  • PIES – Industry standard format for product specs and attributes

  • Digital Assets – Images, PDFs, and other assets (if provided by the brand)

5. Set Format Options (Varies by Export Type)

Each format includes different export settings. Here are the key options:

Excel (Full)

  • Export Applications per Year or by Year Range: Choose between a single row per year (larger file) or a range (condensed)

  • Select Segments: Export all, or only specific segments

  • Only Selected Price Types: Choose which pricing tiers to include (if available)

  • Use AutoCare Brand Code: Choose between AutoCare code or PDM internal brand code

Export Builder Plus

ACES

  • ACES Version

  • Export Applications per Year or by Year Range export style

  • Additional options to include: countries, regions, sub-brand IDs at header or part level

PIES

  • PIES Version

  • Only Selected Price Types (optional, based on what the brand shares)

Digital Assets

  • No format options; all available assets will be included as-is

6. Start the Export

  • Click Export

  • A progress bar will appear in the bottom-right corner

  • Depending on your browser settings, your file may:

    • Download and open immediately

    • Save automatically in your Downloads folder

    • Prompt you to choose a destination

7. Find Past or Active Exports (Optional)

You can always go to Export Reports to:

  • Redownload a recent export

  • Check the status of a current export

  • View any errors or issues

  • Click the Download icon in the Actions column to retrieve your file.

Important Notes

  • Only Approved brands can be exported

  • Pricing is only included if shared by the brand

  • Digital Assets must be exported separately unless URLs are embedded in PIES, Excel, or custom templates

  • All exports are read-only—you cannot edit data inside PDM
