Identifying Missing Digital Assets on the Server

Helps identify products with metadata, but no physical jpeg, png, etc...

Step 1: Filter Products with Missing Digital Assets

  • Open the filter menu.

  • Click on 'Analysis'.

  • Select 'Digital Assets'.

  • Choose 'Asset file non-existent on server'.

  • Note the total number of products (e.g., 369 products).

Step 2: Verify Missing Assets for a Product 0:36

  • Select one of the filtered products.

  • Click on 'Digital Asset'.

  • Check for the absence of an image.

  • If no image is present, it indicates a missing asset despite having metadata.

Step 3: Upload Missing Digital Asset 1:10

  • Upload the missing image file via the product UI or the import page.

  • Example: Navigate to your local PC, find the image in the Downloads folder, and upload it.

  • Save the image as 'primary' and confirm the upload.

Step 4: Check All Digital Assets in PDM 1:54

  • Go to the company digital assets page.

  • Review all digital assets that have been imported into PDM.

  • If dealing with many products, use the import page for bulk uploads.

  • Select 'Digital Assets' and upload a zip file containing images (ensure it is no more than 4GB).

  • After completion, verify that the filtered products no longer appear.

  • Save the current filter settings for easy access later.

  • Name the filter (e.g., 'Missing image on server').

  • This allows quick retrieval of products with missing images in the future.
