The PDM platform now supports the ability for values to be created dynamically and stored in a Custom Field.
The Custom Field appears in your PDM account and can be used like any other Custom Field in terms of mapping into Expression Builder Plus templates, sharing with receivers, etc. However, the field values cannot be edited since they are created dynamically.
Below are some example use cases of when this capability may be valuable:
You want to map a value into an Expression Builder Plus template, but is some cases you want the value in Field A to be used and in other cases, you want the value in Field B to be used. For example:
If the Long Description field from the Description Segment is populated, use the Long Description field's value, but if it is blank, use the Short Description field's value.
You want to combine to text values. For example:
Combine Short Description from the Description Segment with a value from an existing Custom Field.
You want to calculate a number from one or more input values. For example:
Multiply Retail Price by 1.1 (ie, increase the value by 10%
